Non-Collaborative Learning

For my non-collaborative learning project, I chose to create a Hotlist including websites and blogs that I use on a daily/weekly basis.  I used the Power Point program to create my Hotlist and was able to link a description of the website and the website itself within the PPT.  Below, you will see my Hotlist shown as a movie.

Some of the websites I included in my Hotlist are subscription based websites that my district has subscribed to.  Pebble Go and Brain Pop Jr. are two of those websites and I use them A LOT! The Everyday Math Online site is also available to me as that is the curriculum we use in our district.  The other websites include Pinterest, Scholastic, Go Noodle, Teacher Tube, SMORE, Common Core Standards, and my favorite blogs.  Any teacher would be able to use this Hotlist when looking for ideas pertaining to a certain topic or concept.  The list will continue to grow as I learn about more tools and websites that will apply to my classroom.

The student portion of the Hotlist is kindergarten-friendly in that there are no descriptions, just an image that they are familiar with from previous experience with the website it is linked to.  Some of the websites are the same such as Brain Pop Jr., Pebble Go, Everyday Math, and Go Noodle.  Students know what to do at each of these sites from whole group learning experiences.  Other sites they are able to go to include PBS Kids and Tumblebooks, I expect to have my students use the Hotlist during our Daily 5 time when they can listen to books, practice math games, or watch videos about their favorite animals.
